Dubstep vs Metal

Hi everyone! Today I've got something really interesting for you to see. I'll be talking about the track Rock'n'Roll by Skrillex. I'm sure all of you know who that is and what that this track is. But in case you didn't, here's the track.



But today's topic is NOT about the original track by Skrillex, but about a complete METAL cover by Fracionado. When I first saw his channel, I literally was shocked by how easy he does his covers and how complex they are. But this one shocked me most! He always uses his EIGHT-string electric guitar for his covers, but in this video he also used his five-string bass guitar, and layered himself in five separate tracks, which layered in a complete track! It is really amazing! Here's this video.

"D-jahsta - Systep EP" Review

Hi everyone! Time for my first review, and today I'll be reviewing Systep EP by D-jahsta.

This EP was released 08.10.13 on Firepower Records. D-jahsta always made something amazing, and this time he made this old-school hard aggressive robotic sounding, which is really not for everybody to listen. However, such sound is just what this label is famous for, and I really like it. This EP consists of four tracks, three of them are pure dubstep, and one of them is actually a drumstep track! But the unique sound is still there. I unofficially call this sub-genre Robostep! So here's the EP itself, have some bass in your face! :)

Top Track of the Week

Hi guys! Here comes another TTW! Today we have someone, that everybody should know... in a remix :) So the winner is...

"I Could Be The One (Dank Remix)" by Avicii and Nicky Romeo! Dank really surprised me with this track, because I never thought that the original of this song can be turned into Dubstep, but he actually did it. I really like the arranging and atmosphere of this track - it sounds really happy and interesting, even though the drop is very powerful. In fact, I've already seen people mixing Avicii into Dubstep, Skrillex with his remix on "Levels" is the perfect example, but this one is different. The atmosphere of this track is totally different, because Dubstep is usually very dark. So let's take a listen to this masterpiece :)

Bassland is over

Hi everyone! As you all know, the Bassland finished a few days ago. I hope at least some of you went there, it was awesome, I wish I could be there too! Atmosphere there was so intense and energetic, that no one could stand still! The number of people also amazed me, it was a huge hall, and it was crowded with people! And I can perfectly understand why, the performance of all groups and artists was at their highest level! I really regret that I couldn't be there. I especially liked the performance of Nero, they were just amazing! I talked about them a few posts below, so now I will just show you the video featuring them. This is actually the longest recording of Bassland I've found! :)

Marquese Scott, or Nonstop

Hi everyone! I think it's time to show you the BEST dubstep dancer ever - Marquese Scott, or Nonstop! His usual performance area is... street! Yes, he just dances on streets. He was born in Inglewood, California. From his early years, he always dreamed of music. He began his dancing career in 2003. There's not much I can actually tell, only that you will never see such dances performed by anyone except for him. Top Track of the Week

Hi guys! Here comes another TTW, and this week we've got someone really famous. So the track is...

"Mind Control" by Zomboy! All of you should know this guy... or I don't know what you are doing in this blog :) I honestly think that that's the guy who will become more famous than Skrillex one day. Anyway, back to the track, this one is the part of huge compilation "Never Say Die vol. 2", which has a lot of good tracks from different great artists, such as SKisM, 501, Figure, Mayhem (yes, that's who will be on Bassland) and more. The track has a pretty unique arranging - hard and aggressive beginning, but then pretty melodic and interesting drop! That's what I liked here, so take a listen :)

Bassland - Nero

Hi everyone! Today I would like to continue the topic of Bassland. Specifically, let's talk about the legendary group Nero. This group appeared in London in 2004, and consist of Daniel Stephens, Joe Ray and Alana Watson. They compose Dubstep, Drum & Bass and Electro House. Oh, by the way, here's their website. Ok, so now I want to show you their famous performance - playing along with symphonic orchestra! Yes, they combined dubstep and orchestra! This is the recording of their whole performance, which is relatively long compared to other dubstep songs.

Bassland

Hi everyone! You probably know that there's something HUGE coming - "Bassland", which will happen in Arena Moscow, May 18! All big fans of bass music were waiting for it for a long time, me also. From now I will keep you posted for the newest info about this huge event. Oh, and for those who don't know - the main hero of this event is a really famous group Nero, but there are a lot of other famous people, such as Modestep, 12th Planet and Mayhem. So today I give you the official promo mix of "Bassland". Enjoy!

Hi everyone! Yes, it's time for another TTW! Sorry for not posting TTW last week, I was busy. Because of that, this week I've got something special :) So the winner is...

"You Have Reached Your Destination (Subsonik Remix)" by Kill Paris! This track is really amazing, it's actually referred as Drum & Bass, but it also has a lot of Dubstep elements in it. I always loved such combinations, they always bring something new into music. So take a listen and you will understand what I mean :)

P.S. If you put this track on repeat, you actually won't notice when it ends and begins again! It sounds like it was meant to stay endless :)

Xilent - Boss Wave

Hi everyone! I just realized that I didn't show you one of the coolest and craziest Dubstep video clips ever! This video is not really new, but still really good. It's a mixture of 8-bit music and Dubstep. This clip shows each gamer's dream :) Xilent, that's the guy who made this track and this clip. Probably lots of you heard about him, but for those who did not, here's a brief info about him. His real name is Eryk Kowalczyk... WHAT?! One of my favorite producers is Russian?! Ah, no, he is from Poland... but still! :) Anyway, here's his awesome clip. And here's the link to his YouTube channel.

TheDubstepBlog about xKore

As you guys may seen before, I like to research about Dubstep and artists of this genre. In TheDubstepBlog there was a pretty short article about xKore and his live set, but the author had in it just what is necessary. He was talking about xKore himself and about artists that were included in his live set. He also gave a bries description about what happened and where. And of course he posted this mix, that I really enjoyed.

"New Beginning" by Ben Moon! This track is a mixture of Orchestra and Dubstep, which is already sounds crazy. But hang on, Ben Moon himself is just 17, can you believe me?! Writing such tracks in his age is just awesome. So here it is, enjoy :)

Hi guys! Time for the first TTW! This week's top track is...

"Tomorrow" by Hurricos & Dropbear! These guys don't perform together for a long time yet, but this track is just awesome. It's a part of their "Time Control" EP, which also includes track "Moments", but today I will focus on "Tomorrow". This track in relatively new, about 1-2 month, but it already has a huge number of fans, including me! So enough talking and let's take a listen :)

Time to develop!

I think it's time for me to really get in my blog. All the time it was just school stuff and really few things that are interesting for audience. From now on, I will take full advantage of this blog. As you may have guessed, this blog will be about Dubstep music. I will try to show people the art and hard working behind this genre. At first, I will start to post weekly rubric "Top Track of the Week" or "TTW", where I will post one track that I found the best at following week, with a little introduction to it and brief biography of the artist, if I didn't do this earlier. And of course I will post all the interesting stuff that I can find - live performances, interviews, concerts and so on.

So let's begin with YouTube star - M4Sonic. This guy does live mashups and mixing with "Novation Launchpad" and "Ableton Live". So here are some of his works.
